是否任何的 Domain name 都可以申請的 ? 視乎你想申請的 Domain name 是何類型，申請國際 .com, .net, .org 是沒有限制的, 可以公司或私人名義申請 .edu 是必須以一間四年制或以上之學校名義才可以申請 ( 但是免費的 ), 而香港 domain name , .com.hk 則必須要以公司名義申請你可能被要求提供公司註冊証明 ( 商業登記證副本或有限公司註冊證 ), .net.hk 必須是在港的 ISP 才可申請 ( 須出示證明文件 ) .org.hk 必須是已領有社團牌照 ( 牟利或非牟利均可 ) 之社團才可申請 , .edu.hk 則須持有及出示在港的教育牌照。而.com.hk 新申請手續約需三至五個工作天。轉移手續約需七至十四個工作天。 If I'm trying to transfer my existing hk domain name, what is your DNS information? We will allow you to have a maximum of 50 email addresses. What is an email alias? An email alias simply forwards email messages to another email address. When you have finished registering your account, enter the automated control panel by logging in with your username and password. Can I run executable files on your servers? No, it is prohibited to run executable files on our servers other than MS Frontpage system files. Upon violation we reserve the rights to terminate the account immediately. Do you include any scripts? Yes. We offer a free guestbook, counter, java chat, clock, local search engine, random picture selector, feedback/order form, and password protected directories. What page is loaded when somebody goes to my domain name? Unix servers are configured to read "index.html" as the default page to load. It is STRONGLY recommended that you have an "index.html" page in EACH of your directories of your website. Directories without it allow browsing through all your files and exposing to public view files not intended for that purpose. After uploading my files, images are missing or links are broken, why? Unix is a case sensitive platform. If you specify for a file called "index.html", and the file is actually "Index.html", it will not work because the server will recognize that as two different files. This is one of the biggest problems for people transferring files from a Windows based computer to our Unix servers. If you encounter this problem, ensure that the hyperlinks on the pages correspond to the exact filenames on your website. If they do not match, you can either modify your hyperlinks and upload the pages again, or rename your files. What is a secure server? A secure server uses SSL (Secure Socket Layers) technology. This SSL technology is used to establish an encrypted connection between the server and client and providing privacy between the two communicating applications. How do I set it up for my account? Go into the control panel and activate the Frontpage option by clicking the button to "On". If you did not specify you required Frontpage in the application, it will not be activated, and you must do so manually. There are files in my folders that I did not put there. Can I delete them? If you log in to your site with plain FTP and find file there such as .htaccess, do NOT delete them. If you delete them, you could damage your Frontpage extensions. What is CGI? Bandwidth or data transfer refers to the amount of traffic that is coming and going from your web site. For example, if your welcome page totals 5k, every time someone looks at your web page, 5k of information is being sent to their computer. If you have images or photographs on your site, this will increase the amount of traffic used. What kind of backbone do you have? Our servers are connected to a multiple gigabit backbone that provides your web site with one of the fastest connections to the internet regardless of where it is being accessed from. Do you have any backups in case of power outages? Yes, all of our servers are in a secured server room which is backed up with UPS's as well as generator backups from the server building.
